mucines dry anyone out?

i've posted before about the safety of mucinex, but i am at my last straw with fluid in my ear-so seriously contemplating mucinex. has anyone taken mucinex while breastfeeding without drying out? or have you dried out and how long did you take mucinex for?

i would be devastated if i weaned my 22 month old early because of this, but at the same time, fluid in the ear for over 2 months is no fun or safe either!

thanks for any help!!

I used Muncinex and had no problems, but it was just plain Muncinex, not D or DM. Mucinex D may dry you up, because it is a decongestant and, well, that's what they do. But I don't know if the plain Muncinex will do you any good because all it will do is thin the fluid, not eliminate it. But thinning the fluid may make it easier for it to drain-out on it's own.

I didn't take it long... maybe 3-5 days during the worst of a cold.
