Which teeth came in first?

DS is a little over 8 months old and he's been teething pretty badly for a week and half now. I haven't seen any bump or tooth... until today! I have to say, he hasn't made looking easy, but apparently I was looking in the wrong place. I was expecting his front teeth to come in first, but now I see and feel the red swollen bulge where his upper cuspids (canine) teeth will be. Boy was I surprised to see this! Is this unusual? Are they more fussy when it's the top cuspids? It seems like every day his fussiness is worse than the day before. I sure miss my happy baby boy

So now I'm wondering, which teeth came in first for your babe and when?

my ds got the two center bottom ones, then the two center top and then the two on the outside of the center top, then the two on the outside of the bottom center ones - sorry I don't know the names of them!

Both of my kids had the bottom two teeth in the center come in first.

Most of the time the top 2 bottom come in first but occasionally you will see a child cut the top 2 first or any of the others first. It dosnt mean anything if the others come in first. Just makes them a bit unique.

DS got bottom front 2 first, then 1 top front, then 1 top next-to-front, then other top front, then 2 bottom next-to-fronts, then other top next-to-front.

I do remember that he was more fussy, biting, crabby when the top ones were coming through.

My best friend knows a kid that got all his eye teeth first. It's not the norm, but it certainly can happen.

My ds just got one of his bottom front teeth in at 6 months old. A friend of ours has a 1 year old whose first tooth was his top canine, and all his other teeth have come in just fine so far. I don't think it is anything to worry about, just unique!

My son got the bottom two first, then the top two. Now he has one of the ones next to the top ones and I think he's working on the other side. (Clearly I don't know the teeth names either!)

My nephew, now 13, got his canines in first too - they lived in the Philipines at the time and all the people who saw him said "ooh, he will be very protective of his home" because of them, like a wolf. I can't say I know him to be overly protective of his home, but he sure is very content there and, as an older brother to triplet girls, he IS protective!

My DD got the bottom middle two, then the top middle two, and now that two top ones beside those are coming in. In my baby book I had my bottom two, then the canines came in. I think it just varies!
