Has anyone made Yoghurt on a warming element on a stovetop?

I have a brand new stove!

It has a fifth element which is a 'warming plate' which you use to, well, keep food warm. There are 3 different heat settings.

I am wondering if anyone has used one of these to make yoghurt and if so, how? Did you just put a jar of milk and culture directly on it? Did you put the jar in a pot of warm water then on the element?

The principle seems to be similar to one of those old school warmers that were popular in the 70s for entertaining, if you know what I mean.

Thanks!

I'd run an experiment with some water. Try putting a container of water directly on there and then indirectly. Sample the temperature a few times over several hours. If you get it to stay at 110 degrees consistently you should be able to use it to make yogurt
