Want to see my little fish?

This was taken today at the Y. DS swam from the edge to me which was about half way across the width of the pool.

I am not sure why it is so blurry, but it is the best I have been able to get so far.

Woohoo! That's quite a big jump off the side too! My DS starts his very first swimming lesson on Tuesday (the session actually started last week but I was sick so he missed the first one ) He's only 13 months though so no jumping off the side for him

ETA - My birthday is March 28th too!!!

yayyyy kiddos swimming! my kiddos have been in swimming lessons since they were 3 months old and I think its the best thing ever.

Gillian my (now 18 month old) has been jumping off the side since he could stand up on his own. It is totally possible.

Wow!

I want a fish! lol My son just stands up in the shallow end and will-not-come away from the edge...at all! lol (and hes 4 1/2! lol) ... I don't know what I did wrong! Perhaps he is just likes his father though - and just isn't that fussed about water!

I was always a fish as a child. Maybe this baby will be my fishy buddy lol

Awesome!

I swam pretty early and had planned on exposing Micah early, but he has only been in a pool twice

So cute! He looks so happy!
We put DD in her first swim class at five months and she is totally a little fish! She's 13 months now and loves the pool, including going under water. She starts her next series of lessons in April. Can't wait!

WOW!! What a little fish you have! How often do you guys go swimming? That was such a cute video!

My DD is a couple months younger and will happily swim holding on to a noodle, and will walk in water as long as she can keep her mouth and nose out of it. She however will not make any attempts to glide etc. She also has always hated putting her face in the water.

Thanks! We go about three times a week right now, but that only started a couple of months ago. He has been swimming independently for about a month now. I did infant swim classes with him, but he really just wanted to wiggle in the water. I also tried a "Mommy and Me" type of class when he was about a year and a half, and he just kept trying to pry my hands off him, but he would sink when I let him go.

I ended up not bringing him to a pool for almost a year, and then when I did, he just started really going nuts. I was letting him swim while I held onto the back of his shorts to help him to stay up, and just let go little by little until he was swimming on his own.

He can swim the entire length of the pool at the Y now, but that short clip was as good as I could make it for now. I had a friend take a better video, but I haven't gotten a copy yet.

I love my little !!
