Travel Question

Jena is 12months old and has been daytime dry for almost a week. OK, so here is my predicament, I plan to travel 2.5 hours away in 2 weeks, I figure I will stop halfway for a potty break. This is the thing, we are going for a birthday party at a friends house and I definitely DO NOT want her to have a miss on their carpet/furniture, and I also dont want her to feel uncomfortable for fear of having a miss and making a mess. So what should I do, I am staying away from diapers as much as I can, but Pullups (which I really dont like) are still way too big on her. So I am curious what I should have her wear to prevent a mess should she have a miss. Thanks a ton...

How about some cloth training pants in her size? I love them!

we used diaper back up, so for us using a diaper in such a situation is no big deal.

We have some of the thick panties, is that what you are talking about? She can still pee through those if she has a miss.

does your friend know that jenna is in undies, day dry, uses the potty, etc?
I keep a bblp in the car and potty just before going into the car seat, stop if she gets too fussy and let her try again, and always potty her when she gets out of the car before we head in somewhere. If it is going to be a busy situation I bring her potty in with her so she knows it is there. I keep a spray bottle of bacout in my diaper bag and several pre-folds to clean up any messes.
If you are pretty sure she won't have a poop miss then it would probably work.
If worrying about her having a miss will ruin your whole day then put her in pull ups (they should fit. my dd is really teeny and wore them when she was about 6 months. They are just really easy to pull down We use cloth pull ups that we got from www.sassycloth.com but I don't know if you will have time to order and get those before the party.
have fun

I like waterproof training pants for a situation like this. My faves have been eca-pants, that is what has worked well for us. My dd is a bit older than yours, but we had a recent long stretch with no misses that was broken at a birthday party. Too much fun playing with the big girls to worry about going potty! Waterproof trainings pants really come in handy. And same as zoebird, we used diaper back-up as well up to a certain age. I like theboysmama's suggestions for a different approach, too! (My LO was never a huge fan of going while out and about, so diaper/ trainers back up was the least stressful solution for us.)

WOW, you guys give some great suggestions! I was thinking of getting some cloth waterproof trainers, but I knew I may not be able to get them in time. I LOVE the ones from eca pants, but WOW on the price. Is there anywhere to get them cheaper? I may order some from the sassy cloth website, they are pretty affordable. zoebird, using diaper backup hasnt confused your lo at all? Boysmama, she does know we are pling and mostly daytime trained. I spoke to her about it today and she is pretty open to accept whichever way we choose to go....great friend huh? We do have a tiny bb in the car for when we are out and about. as well as a portable folding seat for the big toliet. Thanks guys you have been a huge help.
