Hahah - well - I did something very similar - In my pregnancy induced stupor, I sent my interview clothes to my old address 1200 miles away! I called CS at midnight (can't believe they were open), panicking, and they called UPS for me and rerouted my package just in time. I got them the night before my interview - whew.

Thanks for asking! YES, in fact, I DID! Black suit with a bright button down shirt. The suit is a little different- the sleeves are 3/4 instead of full length and I can't begin to tell you what a different it made overall.

The interview is Monday.... suit is pressed, portfolio is complete... keeping my fingers crossed!

And I know you think you won't wear it again, but if you get the job, chances are there wil be a time when you are meeting with high-level donors or a community event or whatnot and you will wear that suit.


And if you don't get the job, well, now you'll have an interview suit for the next time!

It's an investment, for sure. But suits are also appropriate for funerals, wakes, meetings of all kinds, etc-- so there will be other occasions you can wear it for if you are so inclined. I wish you the best of luck on your interview!!!!

Just wanted to share a little update. I went to the interview feeling GREAT in the suit y'all forced me to buy.

Two weeks went by, and a few days ago, I received an invitation to meet the entire board of directors for a 2-hour chat! It's a week from tomorrow.

So, we'll see how it goes....

sounds like it's going well! I was going to chime in that for a position like that, you'd like to show a little creativity- not a typical "suit" job, but with a bright shirt, sounds like you have it covered. crossing my fingers for you!
