Think We're Moving to Columbia, MO Area -- Areas?

It looks like we will be moving to the Columbia, MO area. We probably won't live right in Columbia, but around 30 minutes or so outside of it. Can anyone give me any info about the area? Areas you would recommend? Areas to stay away from?

What kind of area are you looking for? We live in Columbia, and really like it, but Ashland is nice if you are looking for a REALLY small town nearby.

I second Ashland. Neat little town and wonderful docs at Namaste Healthcare.
