Night time change routine

I've always used cloth diapers in the day, but mostly disposables for night.

My new baby has real difficulty with disposables though, they seem to give him blisters, so I am going to switch tonight to cloth with a wool soaker.

I am wondering how often people change their babies at night? I find I change cloth fairly often in the day because it gets wet, but with the disposables at night I've only been changing when he poops, which lately he hasn't been at night much.

It depends. We use heavier dipes at night in the hope we get all the way through without a change. Some nights like last night we manage it. Some nights we don't - and I'm changing twice.

My guy still tends to wake up twice a night to nurse, so I always check his dipe before I offer him food. If it needs changing we do that first, and the nursing puts him back to sleep.

I never have. Well as a newborn if he pooped I would obviously change him, but other than that i leave him. Changing him would wake him up too much. We find a stuffed BG with a booster works well or a Baby Beehinds Hemp Diaper and cover get us thru 12 hours no leaks

Unless ds pooped I didn't change him at night, even as a newborn.

THis is what I'd like, but I'm having such trouble with his skin. He keeps getting these blisters, and I can only imagine having urine on them would be very uncomfortable.

In any case, last night worked well. I doubled his diaper and just changed him once when he woke to eat, and he was just ready for another change when we woke up this morning.

If nothing else this will motivate me to pretty much rely entirely on the cloth!
