Lisadeane-These are darling. I am a beginner knitter myself, and wondering how difficult these were for you to do. Like, would you say that this would be a good thing for a newbie to knitting, or does it take more skill?

Way to go!
Will you be adding elastic, or are you going to stick with the paper-bag waist?

This was the second thing I have ever knitted and it wasn't too hard at all. The pattern I followed is free and it is on the wool soaker group on yahoo. It is Susans soaker pattern. I have adrawstring for the waist which seems to be working fine. I just bought the new pattern from Fern and Faerie and am working on a soaker this time. I am having so much fun with this!

Fern, the pattern is in a file folder on the Wool Soaker group on Yahoo groups. You have to join the group I think to be able to see it. Just go to Yahoo groups and type in Wool Soaker and it should take you there.

another stupid question... which one did you use? i see numerous legging patterns.. susans, valeries, or the one with part 1...ect? some of those patterns look a bit confusing,. maybe because they are hand made.

thanks, fern
