Or did it get longer because I was on bed rest and then change back when I went off? Or is it dynamic and changing all over the place no matter what?

Normally I'd just say Eh, I'm just going to chill out and not freak unless I have any weird symptoms, but I'm going to Florida next Friday. It means a ton of walking and carrying stuff and swimming and generally being more active than I have been. I just don't know.
Sucks that you're having to deal with this.

Sorry, bri. I'd still go to Florida, I think, but I'd call the specialist and ask your questions (about why the midwife keeps getting shorter measurements, and if your bedrest prior to the specialist scan could have given a temporary boost to your cervix length). It's a simple phone call, and the specialist should be able to tell you what they know about the effect of bedrest, and if you should be worried.

And if you do still feel uneasy, can you take it easy in Florida? Less walking, more time relaxing on the beach, tons and tons of water?

ANOTHER emergency appointment today (emergency drs appointment, they squeeze me in right away, not er visit)

bp 130/60 but I hurt
i was shaking... but i hurt
maes hb 140 (normal)
after a lot of painful moving me around... i was told theres nothing she can do, she gave me something stronger to help me sleep (flexeril) and suggested I see a chiropractor

soooo

yay spd!

She did tell me she will write me a note for the airport that I need a wheelchair to help get around.

Oh Maeryn, that's awful! I actually didn't know what SPD was so I looked it up, and it sounds so incredibly painful. Will your insurance cover your chiropractor?

AFM: Just another 4 week appt. Baby's heartbeat sounds good, I've gained some weight (8 pounds since my last 4 week appt. which is more than I'd like! I'm blaming it on all the good birthday celebrating that's been going on here for the past 2 weeks...)

Next up is the glucose test in 3 weeks, then another OB appt. a week later for the results. I'm crossing my fingers it comes back negative, b/c I'm going on vacation soon after and will be sad if I can't enjoy all the yummy food!

If they dont as a walk-in my doctor will refer me to them and then they will.

Im pretty sure they do as a walk-in though as I have had to look into it before.

I hope it helps! Waiting on a reply from my midwife now, my doctor suggested I contact her to ask what I should do about it.

Just had my 24 week visit and everything is great! Baby was kicking the MWs while they were listening for heart tones with the fetoscope and they were laughing about it

My MW is going to bring my birth supply list to our next visit, I can't believe it's that time already!!!

One awesome thing I found out is that she has 3 birth pools that she loans out (free, wahoo!), so I don't have to worry about renting one. That is AWESOME news for me, they are so expensive! She has the Birth Pool in a Box and mini BPIB.

Other than that, nothing new to report

Yay good appointment!

My 24 week is on Wednesday. I'm kind of worried about weight gain (I don't have a scale) because this is the point where I started getting enormous last time and ended up gaining 60 pounds. We'll see. In good news, my MIL is going to meet me at the OB's office and play with Emma in the waiting area while I'm in there, so I don't have to hold her the whole time. So that makes things easier.

I had an appt. today and it went well. I am 26 weeks and seem to be measuring 27 weeks... hmmmm, I think I started measuring small with DD around 30 weeks. I hope this is not an indication that this baby is going to be bigger..... DD was 10 lbs, 5 oz.

I SO know what you mean! I am pretty overweight going into this pregnancy, and I gained like 65+lbs with my first...this one I've already gained too much, I can tell (way too much if you consider my weight when I started). I have not been as active or eaten as well as I would like lately because we are staying somewhere temporarily while the apt is remodeled and things are crazy...plus there is nowhere to cook. Anyway, I've been really stressed about it so MW confiscated my scale and doesn't weigh me lol. She just wants me to eat better (I've been eating way too much processed food over the past couple of weeks because of my situation), so I'm working on finding some solutions for that.

Don't worry about it too much mama, I was measuring 25wks at my appt yesterday and MW said that they just look for it to be within about 3cms. So if its a little over, or under, its fine and most likely baby is just having a growth spurt. Especially at this gestation...she said it stops being accurate at around 32-ish weeks and at that point they just look to make sure there is still growth. I can totally relate to not wanting a bigger babe though...mine was close to 10lbs and I definitely don't want a bigger one this time lol. Although they ARE cutely squishy It's like...so much for those NB clothes haha.

I have one tomorrow, too. The big GD 1-hour. Since my dr. didn't give me a protocol to follow (other than "eat 18 jellybeans and show up an hour later at the lab"), I went online to look one up.

1. Will eat less sugar than normal in the 24-48 hours before the test
2. Will eat a veggie/protein dinner the night before
3. Will have a small protein snack before bed (small handful of almonds)
4. Will wake up and have some protein with a small breakfast, 3 hours before eating the jellybeans
5. Eat the jellybeans
6. Walk, drink, be active in the hour between jellybeans and blood work
7. Get the bloodwork and hope for the best

Jellybeans? Is that in place of the disgusting drink?

My next appt is tomorrow too! I have a list of things I want to talk to my MW about, as I am feeling more and more ill-prepared and doubtful, so I need some reassurance.

ROM - good luck tomorrow with the GD test. It's good you have a plan in place. I opted not to do it, unless I start spilling sugars.

MP - hope your last doc appt goes well!
Yup. A study came out a few years ago that says eating 18 regular-sized (Brach's) jellybeans is the same as drinking the 1-hour glucola drink. When I mentioned to my OB that the glucola makes me feel sick, he said I could do the jellybeans instead. I was glad to hear it was on his radar of acceptable substitutes. It'll probably still make me feel a little sick, but I'm hoping the protein at breakfast helps with that.

louis~ hope your mw appointment is reassuring. You can do this!
I have to ask if I can do the icky drink today... I don't want to but want to get it over with and if I don't do it now, I have to do it whenever I go to see my midwife. Would rather not wait.

I have my appointment today too! And I will get my results from my GTT (did it on Thurs); they probably didn't get the results to call, and I'm quite sure I didn't readily pass. Never do.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! Looking forward to reports...
