Appointment today! Lets see, midwives not worried about my sugars, I've been tracking at home following a very low low and I've been staying low but normal range, not worrisome. We spent sometime discussing the baby's persistent breech position, as baby has not moved from this spot. I was surprised but at my next appointment I have the option to consult with their OB if baby is still breech, I will be 34 weeks and a couple days then, and they would like to do the version by 36 weeks if they are doing one, in part anyway because I also have an anterior placenta. Now, I could also do nothing and wait, or see a direct entry midwife who does versions, etc. I'll probably at least consult with the OB. Ugh... Let's hope baby has moved by then! In other news I have gained about 20lbs at 33w. WAY under the gain with my other two, I'm very happy with that! My midwives don't track it but I weigh myself on their scale.

B/P: 110/68
FH: 32 weeks
Baby Heart Rate: 130's
Baby's Position: Footling breech, grr...

Had my 31-week on Monday-- good quick boring one. My BP is frickin fantastic, 108/68. I'm so relieved because it was around 30 weeks last time that my ankles swelled up, my BP soared, and we started having pre-e worries. So far so good with this baby... I can even still see my ankles, and my rings are still on my finger!... keeping my fingers crossed that it stays this way. I did finally pass my weeks with my weight-- 33 pounds up at 31 weeks. So I'm looking to end up in the 40's. A lot better than last time, when my gain was in the 60's. So I'm content. Heartbeat good, fundal height good, urine good, everything lovely. I asked my OB "can you tell if the head's down yet?" and he said "I could try if you want me to, but a lot of babies at this point haven't settled into their final position, and I don't think it's worth worrying yet." So I said don't worry about it then, we'll check next appt.

Appointment today!

BP was up again BUT when they asked me how I was when I walked in I burst into tears and told them about some extremely bad news I got over the weekend so we are attributing it to that (was only 122/86 so shes not too worried anyway)

Diabetes test passed with flying colors! My glucometer reading was 101 and my hemaglobin was between 11 and 12... but they are not worried about it being just slightly low.

Talked to them a bit more about oral Vit. K and they told me they have seen a very distinct difference between infants who get the injection and infants whose mother does oral... if the mother does oral right, the blood flows fine (same for with injection) but in cases where the mother misunderstands the dosing and takes more than recommended... it can actually be really hard to get blood out of babys foot!

Regular 2 week appointment today--I'm at 33w1d!

The stats:

BP: 120/70
Baby's HR: 130 (down 10 bpm from previous weeks, but no one seemed particularly concerned...except my husband, when I told him.)
FH: 36

I asked today that a note be made in my chart that I'd prefer a midwife, rather than an OB, to attend the birth. Hopefully things will work out that one of the MWs will be available. I also made sure to make the next appt. with the one OB I haven't met yet--I figured it would be better to meet her now, than to meet her at the baby's birth!

Also, still struggling with an external yeast infection that I've been treating with Nystatin (I know, kind of nasty stuff, but what can I do?) for the past week. It seems to be helping somewhat, but not as quickly or effectively as I'd like. Very frustrating!

Its normal for it to change... Mae is usually around 150s, but low 140s high 130s when sleeping.

The midwife even said she was a girl by her heartbeat (old wivestale, I know... but is yours a boy?)

Yeah, I think she may have been sleeping...I usually go for my appts. in the afternoon, but today was an early morning one...she must like to sleep in.

I've heard the old wives' tale before...but as far as two ultrasounds have shown, baby's a girl (and boy are we in trouble if she's a boy, since we have no names and plenty of girl clothes for her!)

lol dont worry, my last two proved the old wives tale wrong... but this one proves it right lol.

I wish Mae liked to sleep in.

I'm a little nervous about not having my OB at the birth. Last time I lucked out and he was on call when I went into labor. This time, I pretty much have to go into labor on a Mon/Tues/Wed/Fri during office hours, or I get whoever is on call.

However, really for a hospital birth, in my experience the nurse you get matters a lot more than the OB/MW. My OB would pop in every once in a while, talk, then disappear again. He showed up at the end to catch the baby and stitch up my tear. The nurse was there the whole time practically. And she rocked. Make sure that your support people know that when you go in, tell the nurses at the nurses' station that you want a natural birth-- there is usually at least one or two nurses who like NCB patients, and they'll volunteer for you.

Laurski, I just had a yeast infection that was gone in a couple days. I took probiotics and ate LOTs of fresh garlic. I just chopped the garlic up small and swallowed it. I did a clove about three times a day. Also, I put coconut oil on the infection.

My DD's heartbeat was higher then my DS's. Now this baby's has been lower then any of my kids. I'm hoping for a girl but prepared for a boy.

Very interesting...I'll have to try that, because I am so frustrated with the *very* slow progress this infection has made in healing, but I lack any real knowledge of how to heal things more naturally. Thanks for the advice.

Also: any specific recommendations on probiotics?

Thanks for the advice, Kelly! I'll have to make sure to pass that on to my husband and my (maybe) doula!

Had my 34 week appt today and my next MW appt is our home visit... yikes.

measuring 35 weeks, but have been 1 week ahead for at least 8 weeks. I have been saying that this baby feels longer than DD (she was 21.5 at birth), MW said I may be right. Baby is LONG, and has long legs. All was good and seems to be going right on track. I can't believe it is about 6 weeks till I meet this little one.

32 week appointment today! From now on they are every 2 weeks. And next time my MW is bringing the birth pool! I can't believe how quick everything is going.

Everything looked great at the appointment. Baby is still head down and anterior, my blood pressure and baby's heart rate good.

Had my 34 week appointment yesterday and everything is going really well.

Fundal height: 34 weeks
Blood Pressure: 126/74
Baby's Heart rate: 144
Baby's position: Head down, engaged in pelvis. Baby's back is pointing at my left side, limbs to the right.

I can't believe my home visit is 2 weeks away! I'm going to go order my birthing kit now

34 week appt today which went great! Baby is vertex and the hb sounded good - in the 150s. I'm up to 153.4 lbs, which puts me at a total weight gain of 38lbs or so from my average pre pregnancy weight. I am coming to terms with this, as I really do seem to be almost all belly.
My bp was the best it's been yet - 108/76 - so glad as my swelling feet and ankles freak me out that I'm going to get pre-eclamptic.

And MW filled out my FMLA paperwork - one more thing done!

Overall great appt - next up is on the 11th, when we will do the GBS testing.

Keep in mind, if you have a lot of swelling, that's a lot of weight right there. I had a TON of water weight from swelling last time, which of course went away as soon as the swelling went down post-partum.

Kelly - Thanks for the reminder- I am trying to believe that that is the case here. My only stretchmarks have appeared on my butt and they actually stretch and retract on a regular basis depending on how much water I am retaining at that point in the day. I am just thankful (knock wood!) that the swelling is my only real pregnancy complaint. So many others have had it so much worse.

35 week appt. today (a few days early). Nothing exciting to report. Met the only OB in the practice I hadn't gone to yet; she seemed pretty nice, but still hoping to get one of the MWs when I go into labor.

BP: 118/84 (not sure why bottom number was so high, given the lower numbers recently. I'm thinking b/c I had to wait for 1/2 hour past my appt. time and really had to pee...)
HR: low 150s

Dr. did the GBS test today. I'll find out at my next appt. (the last of the every two week appts!) if I'm + or -.

34 week appointment

my relaxation stuff is helping and my blood pressure was down a little from last time (132/70... sure the top numbers a bit higher but the bottom number is considerably lower so thats good!)

Head is ENGAGED. omg.

just restated what I already knew about the contractions... if they get stronger and dont die down with rest, call ASAP.

everything else is great.

Next appointment is my first home visit and my first of weekly visits!
