Maybe someone will read this before I have to leave. Here are my speaking notes.
Speaking Notes
Introduction: In the 1980's, when only 10 vaccines were given to children between the ages of 0 and 4, only 1 in every 10,000 children was diagnosed with Autism. In the present day, where over 36 vaccines are given to that same age group, that number is closer to 1 in every 150 children. It is no surprise that with the growing vaccine schedule there also is a growing number of children with autism, neurological disorders, cancer, and even SIDS victims. Some people blame coincidence, but the facts prove otherwise. Many parents and/or caregivers are starting to educate themselves about vaccinations. Today I will give you information about the exemptions for vaccines, the dramatic increases in the amount of vaccines given and the many risks and dangers involved with multiple vaccinations.
(Transition: Let me explain the exemptions that each state have for vaccinations.)
A medical exemption is used when a child has an underlying condition that makes receiving a vaccine a risk to his or her health. This exemption must be granted by a licensed medical doctor, not an alternative health practitioner. It is difficult to obtain.
A religious exemption is available in all states except West Virginia and Mississippi as of today. To claim a religious exemption, parents must have a deeply held belief that vaccinations violate their faith. It is not necessary to belong to an established church or synagogue to make this claim, but religious belief exemptions can be challenged even though it isn’t supposed to be.
A philosophical exemption is available in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Washington. It allows parents to refuse vaccines based on their conviction that the risks may outweigh any perceived benefits.
The easiest of the three to obtain is the religious exemption because your religion cannot be questioned.
It is advised that people interested in an exemption should research and understand their state law as well as the possible risks from the vaccines and the possible risks from the diseases. Parents need to know how the diseases are contracted and what to do if their child gets sick with, say, the measles or chickenpox.
Next is the increase in numbers of vaccines. Children receive many vaccines today. 1980’s children ages 0-4 received 10 vaccinations which were allowed to be spread out because the number of vaccines was smaller in the 80’s.
In 2007 children ages 0-4 received 36 vaccinations. Many of these vaccines are piled on top of other vaccines. It isn’t unusual to see a 2, 4 or 6 month old receive 6 vaccines at one doctor’s visit.
The number of chronic illnesses in children has quadrupled. There are twice as many children with asthma since the 1980’s. A significant rise in attention deficit disorders has also occurred since the 80’s. ADHD was not a medical condition in 1968 but now in 2010, 6% of all school aged children have ADHD.
There was a study done on 448 children who received the whooping cough vaccine to see how effective it was. Out of the 448, 243 of those children were immunized and 26 had asthma. Out of the 208 children that were not vaccinated with the whooping cough vaccine, only 4 had asthma. The study showed that the pertussis vaccine can increase the risk of developing asthma by 5 times.
Reactions to vaccines occur more often than you would think. 80% of vaccine reactions are not reported by doctors. Some of the reactions to vaccines include, fever, aches, redness, high pitched screaming, and the vaccine causes the disease it was meant to prevent, skin diseases, allergies or death. When a child develops a reaction and is taken to the doctors, most doctors will deny that vaccines caused the reaction.
I believe that there too many vaccines given to children and that doctors/parents start vaccinating their children too soon. Hep B for example is a sexual transmitted disease that is given to babies at birth. Why would a newborn need a vaccine for an STD UNLESS the mother has Hep B?
Some ingredients as you see are formaldehyde, aluminum, animal tissues, aborted human tissue, chick embryos (um, hello egg allergies) and thimerosal or a mercury derivative. They build up in the child’s immune system and cause harm. Some vaccines aren’t supposed to be given to people with kidney disorders…..because of a buildup of toxins that the kidneys will not be able to filter. Yet newborns are not born with 100% functioning kidneys…..food for thought
Some precautions that can be taken before the child gets vaccinated are: Dr. Sears, author of the Vaccine Book recommends consider delaying vaccinations until 18-24 months when the immune system is better developed. Do not vaccinate if the child is taking antibiotics or if they are ill because the immune system is not up to par. Consider no more than 1 vaccine per doctor’s visit because it give the body a chance to recognize 1 invader. Generation Rescue.org recommends Consider giving high doses of Vitamin C (3,000-5,000 mg per day) on the day before, on and after vaccinations. If your child experiences any developmental delays, stop vaccinating until you learn more about vaccines. If your child has a reaction then stop until you can further educate yourself. ALWAYS ask to see the vaccine insert.
6 vaccines- Hep B, Hep A, Pertussis, Diphtheria and tetanus all contain formaldehyde which is a carcinogenic preservative.
5 vaccines- Hep B, Hep A, pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus, contain thimerosal which is a mercury derivative that had been banned by the FDA in over-the-counter drugs because of question over safety.
5 vaccines- the same mentioned contain aluminum which accumulates in brain, muscle and bone tissue.
5 vaccines- measles, mumps, polio, varicella, and diphtheria are developed from animal ingredients. Some of the animal tissues include chick embryos, monkey kidney cells, and embryonic guinea pig cells. The concern with this are that people could contract latent animal viruses such as the mad cow disease. The animal parts in vaccines are not screened for safety.
5 vaccines- measles, mumps, rubella, polio and vericella are all LIVE virus vaccines. Live virus vaccines can sometimes infect the person and people in close contact with that person. These vaccines are given to young children and vaccine immunity sometimes wears off for adults. This can put a pregnant mother or immunocompromised at risk by being around a recently vaccinated child with a live virus vaccine.
Vaccines are the only invasive medical procedure that does not require informed consent. You do not sign anything saying that you understand the risks involved with the vaccines.
Vaccineinfo.net states that for all 11 vaccines there are no genetic or lab tests that can be done to determine how the individual will react to the vaccine. Alternative doctor.com states there have been no long term studies on the cumulative effect on the child’s developing immune system of combining all of these vaccines together.
Conclusion: Getting vaccinated or having your child vaccinated is your choice and is not mandatory like the public think. There are many ways to vaccinate including no vaccinations, selective vaccinations or delayed vaccinations and each are up to the family members choosing. If you just educate yourself and make yourself more aware of vaccines and weigh the benefits and/or risks that come into play when vaccinating then you should feel 100% at peace with your decision. Vaccinations can be a life, injury or death situation and should be looked at carefully before making the right choice for your family.
