Where do you get your yarn?

We have no local yarn stores that carry much variety. I'm a big internet shopper. Seriously newly addicted to shorties, longies, soakers, knitting my fingers numb!

I'm about ready to order some more yarn for a couple new patterns, but wanted to ask where you all buy your yarn? Purchased some from Joanns fabrics and then kool aid dyed it, which was a blast but colors are limited, and I'm not all into dying all the time, certainly not enough to look into dyes and all that, at least, not yet ...I've been to knitpicks, but other than googling the term "100% wool yarn" I don't really have an "old faithful" website that I order from.

Do you? Please share!

knitpicks rocks for standard yarn. webs, elann, peace fleece (awesome- but scratchy), and my lys ewe-phoria yarns (also has an ebay store). Have you been to 3 Irish Girls? Beautiful longie/soaker/shortie yarn!

For dyeing, don't limit yourself to Kool-Aid. Regular old food coloring works also (just add vinegar).

My local Joann's moved 3 towns over, and the local Michaels and Beverlys both stripped their yarn selections, so I mostly shop online now. I've purchased from Annie's Attic, although I'm not fond of their website. I just placed a big order from yarn.com and another from Knitpicks. Other than that, I also get in on co-op purchases to buy from places like pure wool or small etsy/hyena dyers.

I've ordered from littleknits.com, Webs (yarn.com), and knit picks. For handpainted yarn, I used to purchase from the WAHM's on Hyenacart all.the.time. Then I started joining the co-ops. So, for soakers and longies, I generall get that through co-ops.

Knitpicks. Love it!

I stalk their sale section and grab gobs of yarn from there and if you order $50 you get free shipping.

Shipping is pretty fast too, even though it's free. I usually have my order within about 4 business days from them.

I'm in Canada, so some of these are here, but my top stores are:

www.knitpicks.com
www.elann.com (love the peruvian highland donegal tweed)
www.wool-tyme.com
www.valleyyarn.com

I also like to look up the yarns I want to try on Ravelry and look up store links through there - for example, go here, then click on "see all buying options" at the bottom right - most of the stores are in the US:

I have used Webs, Jimmy Bean wools, Sandra Singh and Robin's nest. I'm keeping in mind Little Knits too since they are closer by. I am in Cali so Webs seemed to take a while although they have great sales, prices and discount programs -Jimmy bean wools was awesome since in Nevada and you can earn %5 back. Basically what others have mentioned.
