New to this forum - graduate student mama

Hi Everyone,
I have just become a first time mama - DS is now 2 months. I'm currently a Ph.D student at the final stretch of my degree - all of my data is collected and all I have to do is write - and I can do it mostly from home. I'm planning to defend in late April and start a job around June. DS will be going into daycare either part time in May or full time in June (he'll be 5 months then) So, I'd like to get to know other mamas that have school/jobs to share in this experience. Right now, I'm starting to actively apply for jobs in the "real world" and it's a very new process for me after spending most of my life in academia. It's sad to think about not being at home with DS for a year but alas - financial circuimstance demands that I bring home a paycheck.
So... I'm looking forward to getting to know people. I'm wondering if there are any other Ph.D student mamas - especially in science (my degree is in Neuroscience)
Glad to have found this place!

I just bumped up the 2010 PhD mamas thread. There has been a pretty active group in this forum the last couple years. Hopefully we can get it going again (I'm finally able to join, yay!).

Congrats on being so close to done!
