Hi! Today I went to a cloth diaper boutique and finally got to buy cloth diapers! DD is 10 weeks and we've been doing disposables before this.

Here is what I have, does it seem like a good start?
  • 2 GroBaby shell sets, each comes with one soaker pad
  • 2 extra Grobaby soaker pads
  • 2 hemp doublers for nighttime diapering
  • <s>10</s> 6 Motherease Bamboo onesize dipes
  • <s>4</s> 2 Blueberry Onesize covers
  • 1 box bio soaker pads for when out and about and need the convenience of a sposie
  • 1 box flushable liners
  • 1 packet of snappis
  • 20 prefolds
  • 2 Swaddlebees Snap AIO in size medium
  • 2 Swaddlebees Microterry Inserts
  • 1 Imse Vimse wool cover size small for night time diapering
  • Wool lanolizing kit

Thanks!

crud.

I didn't know what to do and I needed to wash them, so I just threw everything in. Including the hemp inserts. Now I'm searching and I read that hemp has to be washed separately...did I mess up everything?

Someone please help! It's midnight and I don't have anything for my baby to wear!

Well, it's been a really long time since I've used CD's my little boy is 3 1/2 but I washed my hemp with my other CD's. I would wash it several times though so they are more absorbent. It's ok that you washed it all together.

Good luck!

I never separate out my hemp.

The PFs and the hemp will need to be washed a half dozen times, but the rest of them should be fine with one wash. And I don't bother doing the entire cycle. Just wash, wash, wash, dry, wash, wash, wash, dry. But then I usually prep with other stuff in the load, so I'm not running a mostly empty machine.

Thanks, I think I've got it figured out now, but I had to put her to bed in disposables...oh well, tomorrow I'll be ready!

Oh, did my stash look good, or anything I can do to improve on it?

I think it looks good. I always look at quantity, and I think you have plenty.. not sure about the sizes though.

Most of it is onesize...but I went and exchanged some and added new ones. I didn't really like the bamboo motherease with the blueberry cover, it was reallllly bulky.

Well, then I am glad you are looking at that issue.. I have petite babies with stick legs.. and onesize wouldn't really work for us I don't think.

I have heard that MEOS works well with the original Thirsties covers (not the duos). The shapes seem to be very similar. Just wanted to toss that in just in case it helps.
