UTI advice

Hi there...I need a little advice about how to treat my uti. I had an e-coli uti and took the antibiotics for a week in addition to taking d-mannose.....it doesn't seem to be gone. My dilemma is that I may be pregnant...I took a test yesterday and it was a very faint positive. So, I'm sure my ob is going to rx another round, but I really don't like the idea of taking antbiotics in the first tri. what else can I do to knock this out? I'm nervous also about not taking the antibiotics because of the risk of miscarriage...anyone been in this situation?

They cultured it and it was e. coli? And it was the proper abx per the sensitivity test? If so, then it's more likely that you have a new UTI, and you'd have to be recultured to find out what the new bug is and the sensitivity. Not sure how D-mannose works, but is it possible since you took both, that the abx was rendered ineffective by it? You could take a home UTI test (Azo is a popular one available in most big drug stores) and see what it says.
