Hi! I've been lurking on MDC for a few months and have loved learning from all you great mommies and daddies! I finally worked up enough courage to join in. So I just wanted to say Hi! And see if this works.
Well carrotts, I suppose Alex is in to everything, but we've pretty much removed anything that he shouldn't get into and the house has been totally taken over with baby toys!! But we do allow him to play with the CD's, DVD player, VCR etc. AGGGHHHH - that was DH's bright idea. I suppose he has a point that it's better to teach him how to use those things properly than always telling him no, it can get pretty annoying to try and put CD's back in their cases all day. He has a pretty ecclectic taste so far! Current faves are Miles Davis (the fusion stuff ), Beck, Sesame Street - Hot Hot Hot, and The Who's Tommy! Ha! Funny boy! He also loves to pull all the books off all the shelves! He likes to "read" them. He'll very seriously tell you a story about them or read the letters. :LOL
hmmm - a little bit more about myself??? I am a WAHM and have been since Oct 02. I went back to my full time job that I loved (and provided a nice check!) when DS was 12 weeks old and only lasted a month! : I got a job that pays me 1/3 of what I used to make, but I get to stay home with my little guy and I'm so happy I made a decision with my heart instead of my head for once! I've been married to my husband for 7.5 years and we also have a cat & a dog! (all in a tiny tiny house!)
AmiBeth - actually Abby the Dog : and Lucy the Cat : are best buddies! We got Abby last year - she was a rescue dog a 5 year old black lab. Lucy I've had since she was a terrible kitten - 12 years!
I am a research assistant for Michigan Public Health Institute. I have the very exciting job : of reading transcripts from tobacco trials and then indexing and abstracting them. Despite begin a little tedious, it can also be very interesting to see how the tobacco industry has lied and covered up knowledge of the health effects of smoking. Unfortunately I am a former smoker, so I get to read about all the various ways I might die Well my chances aren't as bad as they used to be!
