Dinner meal plans for March

Anyone got a meal plan this month? Let's share! Here's mine:

9th -Chilli
10 -pizza pockets with fries
11 -chicken parmigon with veg
12 -pot pies, boiled potatoes, veg and gravy
13 -ratatouille with mashed potato
14 -salad meal
15 -pasta bake
16 -brunswick stew
17 -mexican lasagne, fries and peas
18 -shepherds pie with veg and gravy
19 -roast dinner
20 -savoury pancakes
21 -couscous, meat and veg
22 -chicken garlic kievs, mashed potato and baked beans
23 -sausages, roast potatoes, veg and gravy
24 -burgers, fries and salad
25 -spaghetti bolognese
26 -beef casserole with mashed potato
27 -cooked breakfast for dinner

that's all I got done so far...

I have it all planned, but it's at home so this is for the first 2 weeks:

1-dinner at my mom's
2-out
3-waffles, sausage patties for the boys, dh and I had leftovers
4-apples and sausage (leftover), twice baked potatoes, roasted cabbage
5-pizza
6-boys had leftover pizza, I had a fish sandwich and I think dh had cereal
7-hamsteak, roasted potatoes, cauliflower
8-dinner at my mom's
9-spaghetti, whatever veggies we have
10-leftovers
11-16 out of town

From next month im trying to plan out what types of meals I want in the weekly plan from a huge list I've got, like which types of meals and how often -whether weekly, monthly or occasionally etc, then rotating them.

So far I've decided I think I want to be having:

-Pizza meal once a week -it's popular, you can make all different types/toppings, and it's easy to eat on a movie night!

-Rice meal once a week -such as Indian style meal, Chinese style meal, Stir Fry with rice, Gumbo, Jambalaya, Paella, chilli over rice.

-Pasta meal once a week -Spag Bol, pasta bake, chicken tetrazzini, fettucine alfredo, goulash with noodles/other pasta, stir fry with noodles, tagliatelle pasta dish.

-Fish meal once a week -not sure which fish meals yet.

-Fast-Food meal (healthier home-made versions) once a week -beef/chicken burgers, hot dogs, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, quesadillas.

The other 2 days im still trying to decide which meals to include and rotate. Anyone else doing this?

I plan breakfast and dinner. Here's what I have:

12 B: PB toast D: Baked potatoes, gravy, peas
13 B: Scrambled tofu and potatoes D: Quesadilla and salad
14 B: Biscuits and gravy D: Burritos and salad
15 B: Muffins D: Taco night
16 B: Eggs and toast (PB toast for me) D: Vegetable stew and rolls
17 B: Cheesy biscuits D: Pasta with veggies
18 B: Polenta D: Veggie burgers, potato salad
19 B: Cold cereal or toast D: Curry in the crock pot, baked pakora
20 B: Tofu and potatoes D: Out
21 B: Pancakes D: Dahl, pita chips
22 B: Muffins D: Pizza (Homemade) and salad
23 B: Eggs and toast D: Stir fry veggies and tofu over brown basmati
24 B: Oatmeal D: Lasagna and salad
25 B: Scones D: Beans and rice, salad
26 B: Bagels D: Taco Salad
27 B:Tofu and potatoes D: Potatoes and greens with lentil gravy
28 B: Biscuits and gravy D: Split pea soup
29 B: Muffins D: Taco night
30 B: Eggs and toast D: Veggie burgers, baked fries
31 B: Biscuits and jam D: Burritos and salad


We always have fruit with breakfast also. Kids can have leftovers or quick oats for breakfast as an alternate.

I have tried to write meal plans in the past. I always end up with tons of waste this way

I'm doing this too! I just started last month. It makes it much faster and easier to meal plan, then it's easy to do a month at a time too, before I just used to plan for the week.

So funny, I actually have pretty much the same meals you do!! Here are mine:

4. Fish (soup, curry, baked salmon)
5. Homemade Fast Food (I include pizza in this too)
6. Soups
7. Baked/Roasted Meats (whole chicken, chicken breasts, beef, etc.)

Lunch: Independence Grill 11:30am (ETA: This is my SIL's restaurant, so it's a family lunch on their last day of business. )

Breakfast: Cereal with smoothie
Lunch: Quesadillas with fruit
Dinner: Lasagna with ground Italian sausage
Snacks: popcorn
Bake: blueberry muffins

Breakfast: Breakfast burrito with egg, sausage, cheese, potatoes and green chile and smoothie
Lunch: Left overs or grilled cheese with side
Dinner: Baked pasta with meat and veggies
Snacks: carrots and cucumber with dip

Breakfast: Breakfast burrito and smoothie
Lunch: Left overs or sandwich of your choice and cucumbers
Dinner: Corned Beef, potatoes and carrots, salad
Snacks: Fruit and cheese or peanut butter
Bake: Irish Soda Bread

Thursday, March 18, 2010
Breakfast: left over Irish Soda Bread and eggs and smoothie
Lunch: Corned Beef sandwiches, left over veggies or raw carrots with dip
Dinner: Chicken Nuggets, French Fries/Sweet Potato Fries, veggie/salad
Snacks: popcorn

Friday, March 19, 2010
Breakfast: Cereal or eggs and smoothie
Lunch: peanut butter and jelly/grilled cheese, carrots
Dinner: Aloo Phujia with Rice, salad
Snacks: carrots and cucumber with dip

ETA: Dh will be eating frozen homemade burritos until they run out and then will be having meat sandwiches and fruit at work this week. Dd is also home on spring break so it's a little bit more detailed this week than others (cause really, my 3 year old is happy with crackers and pb for lunch and we have a newborn!)

Cool! Yeah Im hoping it makes it easier! I have a main list of meals we all like, and am now sorting them into the right categories. I thought about including Pizza's into the home-made fast food dinners, but really we would prefer to have pizza every week....sorta like a family tradition pizza and movie night yk? Hopefully it won't get boring since you can do all different kinds of pizza's! And I do know of several families who order-in pizza every Friday or Saturday night. So if I were to put pizza in the home-made fast food dinners section, none of the others in that section would get used!

I do like your idea of baked/roasted meats dinners....hmm.

Very true, nobody here would get sick of having pizza once a week. I think I'm actually going to have it separately and take out the 'vegetarian meal' day, because any of the other meals of the week (rice, pasta, etc.) can be vegetarian if I don't feel like having meat.

Great thread. Tomorrow I'm making ropa vieja in the slow cooker and Sunday tuna casserole. I'm tryingn to map out Monday through Wednesday right now.

Wow you guys have it all planned out. I usually just scribble down three or four meals that I'm gonna make the upcoming week, write down what I need to prepare the meals and then go for it. There's no set plan and the order might change. I hope that in the future I can get it together a little better and actually stick to a certain plan.
