Sister's yeast infection not responding well to natural treatment

My sister has been using garlic as a suppository for a couple days and been eating some yogurt and her results are less than satisfactory. Usually she uses monistat but it has been drying her out so much that she was bleeding from irritation so she asked me for some 'witch doctor' treatments to try. So far she says it isn't getting any better but it isn't getting any worse.
Any more ideas for her to try? Or reasons that it's not working maybe? She wants to eat vanilla yogurt instead of plain, but does the sugar cancel out its good effect?

Ideas and advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Is she sure it's a yeast infection? Many vaginal infections have similar symptoms
In any case she should be taking oral probiotics...yogurt isn't going to cut it IMO. I always had the best results with boric acid suppositories....always worked like a charm for me. You have to get a rx from a doc and get it filled at a compunding phanrnmacy however.

She can also try soaking a tampon in tea tree oil and putting that in there for a couple of hourse a few times/day. I would dilute the TTO first however as it si too strong to go in there full strength. can also try yogurt internally. PLAIN yogurt and yes to your question about consuming yogurt it needs to be plain with no added sugar!

As a topical remedy, apply plain yogurt directly to the labia and vulva. In addition, coat a tampon with the yogurt and leave in overnight. Repeat each night until your vaginal yeast infection symptoms are eliminated, but repeat for a further 2 nights to make sure.

I would recommend a doctor's visit to make sure it is yeast. Also make sure there isn't another medical condition going on, like diabetes.

Also how much sugar is she ingesting?

Homeopathic "Yeastaway" from Boiron is a boric acid internal cream that is available at Whole Foods and other hfs. It has worked really well for me in the past.

(And I would shy away from putting tea tree oil into an already irritated vagina, but just mho.)

I've had good results in the past drinking Pau d'arco bark tea and using as douche.
The tea tree oil on tampon can be very effective also, but you have to be REALLY careful not to get it on your urethra or you will wish you'd never been born!
I also used a homeopathic formula that cleared the yeast infection very quickly.

Thanks for all the responses! I've emailed my sister the link to this thread so she can read through everything. If anyone has anything different, please continue to reply. I love picking your brains!

May I ask what the homeopathic formula you used was?
