Baby and abx

If a 9mo baby needs abx for Strep, what is the best type to give? (I'm hoping we don't need it, but suspect he's got Strep due to rashes and sx like his sis's.) He has doc appt this afternoon and I want to know a preferred abx just in case.

I think a lot will depend on the specific nature of your little one's infection... your care provider should be able to offer a few options and explain the pros/cons of each. I know our family practice dr has a book she whips out for any drug questions she doesn't know the answer to so do ask and don't take "I dunno" for an answer!
