Flying with my non vaxinated 4 mo overseas, need to worry??

I am non vaxinated my boy who is now 3 month old, we are planning to fly to Germany next month to visit my Mom who is getting marrid. Now I hear that flying in an airplane canse cause many viruses to just spread from one to the next, which freaks me out a bit, cause I do not want him to get measels or whatever now that he is so young. However, I also heard that he is protected for quite some time after birth from my antibodies (I am vaccinated) plus he is 100 % breastfed??

Do I need to worry? anybody know more about this??

I would wear him close to you at all times when in the airport/airplane. Keep a scarf over his head if he is sleeping (loosely of course), especially in the plane.

You could look to see what diseases are endemic in Germany.

But I would not worry if it were me. It's not like he'd be fully vaxed at that age anyway. Breastfeeding is the best protection here.

OK, not to make you worry even more, but your chances of getting into a accident on the way to the airport are greater than the chances of the plane crashing, right? And I would bet that the chances of the plane crashing are greater than the chances of your son being exposed to (or at least catching) the measles while on board. And you don't worry about crashes on the way to the airport, right?

I would be more worried about run of the mill nasties, and make sure that your health is the best you can make it (sleep, food, vitamins), and carry him in a wrap. I would also carry hand sanitizer for yourself.

Vaccine induced immunity is not passed on.

Our DS was exactly your baby's age when we first flew overseas with him. I was worried the first time - my pediatrician had done a good job In the last 3 years, we have done this trip twice a year. DS has never picked up anything and I don't even think about it anymore. I make sure the air condition is not blowing in his face and people don't cough at him. It will be fine!
