Every ounce counts!

I just wanted to brag a bit on my state's new breastfeeding campaign. I looked it up after my 19 year old brother told me that breast feeding reduces breast cancer rates in the mom.

I have a copy of that cd, and it's really sweet! I wish they had a way to purchase it online.

I saw that the other day when I was doing some research, and was really impressed!

WIC in Georgia will supposedly rent breast pumps to qualifying moms, but there is a very limited supply.

I'm actually thinking of starting some sort of grassroots efforts to provide either pumps or funds to rent pumps to military moms.

That is the Texas WIC campaign and it was launched in August 2009 for World Breastfeeding Month. We distributed posters, stickers, cards with legal info about breastfeeding, cd's, t-shirts and onesies. The posters were on city busses and the commercials were on tv and radio in Austin. Sounds like it is working if your brother is learning about BF!

Maybe you missed it, they have a link to download it FREE online right at the top above the picture of the mom snuggling the baby
