My bestfriend just started a blog on healthy eating for kids. Please check it out at organicmadre.blogspot.com

Thanks mamas!

I read it. I don't think I will again because of the judgmental and condescending tone though.

I too found it extremely judgemental and rude. Reading it was not interesting and fun, more of a brag list combined with bossy "tips" to keep you from being an evil "Strawberry Quik" mom.

This. And I thought the link between sugar and hyperactivity was disproved. Plus I don't think giving a kid nonorganic milk is the same as mixing pesticides in their cereal either.

Here are *my* thoughts in regard to one's thoughts that could "possibly" be negative with regard to other parents choices to feed their children SAD ( standard American diet ). Assuming said parent is following the rest of most of society and probably hasn't ever given it a second though NOT that that's a great excuse to not take responsibility... I digress. this blog seems aimed at the most simple of issues... and comes off as a brag blog with limited info and LOTS of look at my great choices.

I'm all for education... I'm all for most of what is stated in the blog... I suppose I just believe in coming from a different approach.

If I were an average American mama, feeding my kiddo colorful rainbow "fruity" cereals each morning and delicious nutritious "vitamin fortified" whatevers for lunch... I don't think I'd be persuaded to hear the truth that this blog is offering.

I'd love to see a softer approach that had a welcoming. loving, friendly, educational and supportive vibe that made the participants want to stick together and help one another!

I don't like the ADHD comment. My DS has this dx and I don't feed him unhealthy breakfasts or sugar filled breakfasts. He's still hyperactive despite what he eats!!
I do like what Milkymommi said, well put!
