20 mth old waking up crying out, "Foot!" while kicking

I am hoping a fresh pair of mommy eyes can help decipher what's going on with my toddler. *
This afternoon she woke up an hour into her nap and cried out,"foot!" for the last 25 minutes she refuses to let me put her down and she keeps kicking her legs wildly until I rock her to sleep rubbing while rubbing her legs. *
She's in the ergo now as I type this fast asleep. *I had to resort to the ergo as she is now 23 lbs making walking around with her while sleeping tough. *I have the ergo set high so she's not being pressed into a very wide legged stance. *
What could it be?
When I ask her "hurt?" She says yes. Unfortunately icant decipher which leg or foot as she's crying and kicking about.*
Her feet are quite warm to the touch.*
At first I thought maybe she had a leg cramp? *Do 20 month olds get leg cramps?*
Tonight when she is in bed I am going to check her toenails to make sure there isn't an ingrown nail bothering her.*
Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advanced.*

Could her foot have fallen asleep? This has happened to ds and he was so freaked out it took a long time to get him to calm down...I always forget how painful it is until it happens again, like a million pins and needles!

Of course the simpliest and most logic answer alluded me. Thanks. Sometimes when you are knee deep in the trench you look towards the worse.
I will still check her toenails later. It's time for a trim nonetheless.
Still asleep on me though. Guess we are in for a long night.

I also thought it may have fallen asleep. But I do think children can get leg cramps and rubbing would help with a cramp. I guess she was more scared than anything, not knowing what was going on and needed your reassurance.

DD wakes up screamiong "FEET!" when her foot gets tangled in the covers. I took me three nights to figure out what the problem was.

DD does that too! In fact, she just recently took to a blanket but only if we fold it to allow her feet to be free.

I thought that was it at first but she kept thrashing and crying and her foot was free.

She slept for 3 hours in the Ergo yesterday. DH thinks since she prefers to sleep with her butt sort of in the air and her feet curled in, they probably fell asleep.

Thanks again everyone. I was a bit tired and a little nervous yesterday. Thanks for the reassurances.
