I just signed our 7 yo DD up for piano lessons. I'm so She has been asking for lessons for years.

Anyone else have their DC in piano?

We did the Kelly Kirby system with my 5 yr old DD for a year - she loved it and learned a ton. It's tactile and craft-based, pre-RCM (but definitely not as rigorous). It did teach theory, and used flashcards, workbooks. She played her first recital 4 months in

We took a break to try other things. DD2 will be starting in September (4.5 yrs old).

I just made an appointment with a teacher who does group lessons today. We'll meet her tonight! My dd is a bit too young chronologically for the class but I think she is capable! We'll see what the teacher thinks tonight.
I'm excited too!
