Beans for baby food

When can you start feeding beans (besides soy) to your baby? right now he is not on solids at all, but I am expecting it to happen soon and so I am stocking up on frozen baby foods I make while he is asleep. I was just wondering, are beans harder to digest, do I need to wait longer to introduce them, or make sure I cook them in a special way to make them acceptable or easier to digest/absorb nutrients? TY all!

I think we introduced black beans around 10 months. I mixed them in with sweet potatoes.

DS started eating beans when he turned 1. He would eat them as finger food, mixed in with other vegetables, or in a mash I would make (veggies/greens/beans/grains all processed together).

When my son was about 10 or 12 months we started mashing (brown) lentils through a fine sieve (leaving behind skins and anything hard, making a very very fine smooth lentil puree). We'd add a little EBM I was getting from another mama (I was diagnosed with cancer and had to wean for chemo) to make the mixture more nutritious and softer.

chick peas were a first food for us. maybe around 9 months. i would just pop open a can and rinse really well. I can't say it ever occured to me to not give them beans.

My baby is eating lentils now and pinto beans. I puree it well and make sure I soak the beans properly for 24 hour before cooking them.

My baby loves lentil soup. He is 7 months.

If it is a bean that isn't as soft and stronger (digestibility wise), I would hold off.

Beans were/are one of the first foods i gave to both boys. DS2 is 7 months old and we've had beans the last few nights so he's gotten a couple tablespoons full to play with & eat (we do self-feeding/baby led weaning)
