9 Mo. Old: Frustration Level

My dd has some serious frustration issues that I am trying to take care of, if anyone has any advice. If she isn't good at something, she absolutely refuses to try it more than once. Her upper body strength is lacking, so her gross motor skills are quite behind, but motivating her with food, I got her to pull herself across the floor (proof that she COULD do it, but to that point just plain didn't want to). She can easily point to things in books like a kitty, doggie, Curious George, zipper, and probably a few others, but if it is something she doesn't quite remember right that instant, she gets upset and throws the book. She refused to pick up snack foods and self-feed for a long time and just started clapping (she wouldn't until she could do it perfectly).

Any advice on other motivations I could use for an infant with a somewhat perfectionist-stubbornness to her? I feel horrible enticing her with treats...it makes me think of training a dog, not a child.

DS was the same way. Try not to worry about it too much. She will do things on her own time and that's ok!
