Clonidine while sick with a high fever?

Hi mamas. I haven't posted here in a while but was hoping to get some input. Ds6 is currently sick with bronchitis. He has a high fever and super congested. (Dr. started him on antibiotics yesterday).
I'm a little freaked out about his Clonidine he's on. He takes it for irritability/rage. 1mg 2x a day.
I'm concerned that the fever is speeding his heart up but the Clonidine is lowering his bp. Is this going to be a strain on his heart?

I'll call the Dr. tomorrow and ask but for some reason I'm just freaking out over all of this. He hasn't been this sick in a long time His ped knows he's on Clonidine so she's aware of it but I'm freaking out because now that he's sick with this stupid bronchitis, it just reminds me of the compounding issues the extra meds bring I hate that he has to take Clonidine and wish he didn't have to take any meds at all

I don't think Clonidine is a drug that has to have "build up" to be succsessful, so missing doses shouldn't matter. I would think you could safely withold the Clonidine since being sick probably has him in a different mindset anyway. On the other hand, I really don't think there is a heart issue with the fever vs the meds.
I'll be interested to hear what your dr says (although I often find the pharmacist knows better about interactions than drs....)

Hope he's feeling better!
