We had a 504 meeting this morning and I just gotta say, I love my child's school. 
I love the principal, the social worker, the special education teacher, and the literature teacher (who was for some reason selected to represent all DD's regular teachers).
DD will now have a shorter school day with just her core subjects and lunch. Homework with lots of writing will be modified. She gets extra time for make up work and we have new communication plan for late work. We are trying a plan for when she has questions (she doesn't talk much so doesn't ask questions). We are meeting again in a month to review how everything is going.
I love that the school totally gets that my DD is a smart kid with sensory, social, and communication issues, and that her emotional health is as important as the rest of her. I love that the see her as a whole person, not a problem. I love that they are willing to try things and experiement and figure something out.
