I can't believe this happened..

Asia and I were playing on the bed, she started rolling (that girl can roll FAST now..) and she was off the side of the bed before I knew what was happening. I feel like a TERRIBLE mother. It happened with me RIGHT there! I feel so, so bad. I comforted her, and she cried for about 5-10 minutes and then she seemed okay and normal again. Now she is napping.

Think I need to call the dr. and have her checked out?

I feel so guilty and terrible and horrible and like I am the worst mother in the world.

Did she cry right away? If so, and she doesn't seem out of sorts in anyway, you shouldn't need to bring her in. I've brought DS to the ER a few times for bad falls (he's a climber) and they have always told me that if he cries right away and shows no signs of a concussion I don't need to bring him in.

Awww, I saw this on the main page and had to post.

I don't know of one single mama whose baby didn't fall off the bed at one point. Really, it's so normal, but yeah, makes you feel like a heel, huh? Poor baby, and poor mama! Every single one of my babies rolled off the bed. The one that made me feel the worst was my son (I too was *right there*) because we didn't have carpet in that room. Hard headed little guy was fine, though. I cried way harder than he did! Thank goodness their little bones are so soft! Don't beat yourself up but get ready 'cause if this is your first, you are in for a ride, lol! They fall/roll off of all kinds of things before you think they can.

Oh yikes, mama! I would just keep an eye on her and if she seems to be her normal, healthy self, I'd say you're in the clear.

So sorry this happened to you mama! I've been waiting for the day both my boys fell off the bed, I really don't want it to happen to DD but it really seems like it happens to all babies!!

ds fell off the couch while we were on vacation last week. dh was right net to him! it happens

Twice in front of DH, twice in front of me - three of those times were within one week.

Yep, our baby girl went ass-over-teakettle off the couch, and landed bean first on the floor.

After I felt really really horrible when our baby got hurt and my DP was trying to tell me that it probably happens to everyone- he said I should make a poll on here asking how many times people have had their babies fall on their heads. lol.

I was in the process of putting a pillow on the floor so my DS would fall gracefully with my help. I wanted him to gently learn that it wasn't a good idea to crawl headfirst off the bed. But, somehow crazy enough, he fell off the bed right next to me as I was arranging the pillow. How did I miss him? I was right there? He missed the pillow too. He cried and I cried. I cuddled him and distracted him and he was fine.
