Exposing 13 mo old to Chicken Pox

Is this too young? My friend's daughter has it and I'm taking ds over there tomorrow. But I just want to make sure this is the right move. I know there are dangers for newborns, but everything I've read says that younger children have fewer lesions. So I think I'm okay. I know the vax is given at 12 mos, so he should be okay, right? Somebody just reassure me, please!

I would be comfortable with it at that age.

I wouldn't fear it, but if she is nursing, she might need to catch it again later

personally I wouldn't feel comfortable. If Im going to expose DS to any disease on purpose I would ideally like him to be able to at least communicate to me how he feels should he become ill. On the other hand I know wild CP doesn't come around that often so exposing when you have a chance may be a good idea. For me it would be a tough call at that age, but I know many mamas would have no qualms. DS is almost 2 now, should I have the opportunity now, I would take it!

Since this is about illness exposure rather than vaccines I'm moving to H&H.
