My husband and I are trying for number two. I am VERY regular and know when I ovulate and when I am going to start. After being a day late I took a pregnancy test that came back negative. Then took two more between now and then. I am now a week late and have gotten three negative pregnancy tests. I can't say that I "feel" pregnant yet, but then again I didn't notice any symptoms with my first until I was about 7 weeks along. The HPT are 99% accurate (or so they say). I don't want to get my hopes up. I know there are reasons for starting late, but I do not exercise excessively, I have no thyroid problems, I am not stressed, I am not starting menopause anytime soon. I am just confused.......should I go get a blood test or just assume that I am not pregnant after seeing my three negative tests. gr.....frustration.

I got a negative test at 16 and 18dpo (so 5 days late) and got a very light positive at 20dpo when I was pg with ds1.
The one other time I knew when I o'ed and *knew* af was late, I had a cyst. I can't remember the name for it... They are usually no big deal, and go away on their own. |
The other instance (other than of course testing late) is that you Oed later than you usually do/thought you did... in which case you COULD still be pregnant and just be too soon to test, or not be pregnant and AF could be on its way so pretty much the answer is
You might be pregnant... you might not. Call your doctor and see about their policy... mine wont even do anything until you are a month late with no positive test (telling you to treat yourself pregnant, avoid things you would avoid if you WERE pregnant, just in case you are and are one of those rare women that test extremely late/never on pee tests.)

I was 3 days late and only had 2 days of very light pinkish spotting. I never "skip" a period and have a normal 5-6 period with a heavy flow. hpt's said negative, and my primary care doc didn't seem concerned over it at all. (even though he knows I'm ttc and type 2 diabetic.) He said something about just going to see an ob-gyn instead of ordering a simple blood test to check for hcg pregnancy levels.....*sigh*. Guess I will just have to watch myself closely......and wait and see what the next cycle is like. If more problems I will find an ob-gyn to be on the safe side....
good luck to you....let us know how things turn out
