Return of Menses

I'm currently nursing my 19 month old daughter, who has always been a very avid nurser. We nurse probably 12-20 times a day. I night weaned her about two months ago for my own sanity. I'm beginning to wonder if my fertility will ever return :-) Just curious to hear from some other mamas who had toddlers who nursed frequently and when your periods returned. We were hoping to ttc sometime in the near future.

Ds nurses 3-5 times a day & we nightweaned almost 3 months ago. I am still waiting for my period to return.

My longest record was 2.5 years with DD1. It was 18m with DD2, and then 8 months with DS. I don't know why it has come back a year sooner with with child, DD2 did nurse less then DD2 did, but DS didn't nurse that much less.

My DD is 17 1/2 months old and I just got my first one two weeks ago. I reduced my pumping from 15 to 10 or 12 ounces per day because DD's demand decreased. She still nurses 2 or 3 times during the night.

I think it was about 18 mohths with ds. But it could have been a bit longer, I don't really recall.

I was still breastfeeding a LOT, although my daughter had started solids, when I got my cycles back at 10 months postpartum.

I EBF'ed 2 nurslings (no bottles, additional pumping for freezing) and AF came back within 2 months after birth both times. YUCK!!!!!

I got mine back at 8 months had it for about 3 cycles then lost it again since the end of October.

af returned at 6wks with ds1 and 12wks with ds2 - lucky me...
with ds2 i got pregnant the first try - and my nursing toddler was 22 months old at the time

My 22 month old nurses about 3 times a day. I have had 2 random periods, but they were 3 months apart. I am still waiting for some normalcy....

DD is 16 months old now and I haven't had a period since three months before she was conceived... 28 months ago. We're still nursing about 3 or 4 times a day on days that I'm home. I'm starting to wonder if it's going to come back, not that it's missed!

I think it's really different for everyone. Mine came back when DD was 19 mo. but it's still not very regular and I used to be VERY regular.

Dd 13 months (introduced solids slowly at 8 months, night weaned at 17 or 18 months)
Ds 6 months and counting (no solids yet)

DS was 2 1/2 years. DD is 13 months and nothing yet.

Does anyone know if you need to have a normal period before going on the mini pill? I have a prescription but haven't started them yet because I didn't want to do anything to interfere with breastfeeding, but now that DD has cut down so much on nursing I'd like to start some kind of birth control.

I didn't get mine back until 34 months.
