FWIW, The first time I saw it I was sure Benjamin would hate it too, he was always fighting the initial part of the swaddle where I had to straighten his arms, I thought NO WAY is he going for this. I can't do it! But DH did it a few times first and once he was actually IN the swaddle it was like this wave of calm came over him. He didn't like it, but he NEEDED it!

I was really afraid at first, but once I saw that smile of calm, I gave over my fear and started really tugging at those edges and tucking in.

But it sounds like what you're doing works fine anyway. I'm just saying.

I can definitely see how the tight swaddle would work for a lot of babies. And maybe Ethan would also like it - if he stops sleeping well, I will definitely give it a try!
It's always comforting to find something that works when nothing else seems to.

So far Ben seems a better sleeper, but we haven't hit teething yet, so I'm nervously anticipating that. Ben had a cold and stayed up a couple of nights like all night, that was no fun.
Yup,. Whenever one or the other doesn't sleep when they should be, it does weird, weird things to my head. I'm trying to remember that Orrin is still teeny tiny and figuring out this awake/sleeping thing, he's his own person, it won't necessarily be the same thing all over again, and it helps me stay calm.
