I think you guys are the only ones that might understand.

Me: Ready to set up the new tiny fish tank for your fish?

DD: ROCKS!

Me: Yep, so let's rinse the rocks first in this bowl.

DD: MY STIR THE ROCKS! MY DO!! MY DOOOOOOOOOO!

Me: Good work! I think they're all clean now!

DD: NO! MY STIR!!!

*five minutes later*

Me: I really think they're all set!

DD: STIIIIIIIIR!

*fifteen minutes later*

Me: Ready to add the rocks to the tank? Great. Let's go.

*We add the rocks to the tank*

DD: No can reach them! GIVE ME MY ROCKS!!!!

Me: Okay, here, you can have the rest of the rocks in the bag

Me: Ready to add the water to the tank? Do you want to put the sign and the plant inside the tank?

DD: *ignoring me, stirring her rocks*

Me: Okay, water's in the tank, filter's all set, plant's in the rocks, and so is the sign! Want to see your new fish tank?

DD: No, my fine. My playing with my rocks.

Me: Okay. But look! There are bubbles!

DD: My rocks feel niiiiiiiice.

Me: Fine. You know we're going to get a fish to put into this tank, right?

DD: Fish likes rocks?

Me: I guess.

DD: LOOK! MY POUR THE ROCKS ON THE CHAIR!

*thirty minutes later*

DD: Mama, look at my rocks! .....what dat? *points to fishtank*

Hehe.... that's cute!

My ds got a fish tank (with one goldfish named Dorothy) for his 6th birthday. He loves his fish and I often find him sitting next to the tank reading books to Dorothy or holding up trains that he's playing with so the fish can see the trains too

Too funny!

My DD has a fish tank next to her bed. We don't fill water all the way to the top because she really likes the sound. She LOVES her fish. They seem to love her, too, and each other. Anybody want some baby guppies?
