Acupuncture to increase milk?

My doctor apparently also does acupuncture and he mentioned that he could do acupuncture to increase my milk supply. Has anyone tried this?

i haven't, but just curious - do you need to increase your supply? or is your doctor just trying to drum up some acupuncture business? because even if you do need to up your supply, the most effective way is to nurse more, and there are other things you can do on your own that would presumably be cheaper than acupuncture. and if you don't need to increase your supply, then it would just cause problems!

I did it for two treatments, and I think that it helped a lot--I noticed results the first day...although I was also eating oatmeal, brewers yeast, pumping, and taking More Milk Plus....so who knows exactly what helped the most!

However, I wouldn't hesitate trying it again. I also feel that it helped me to get pregnant after having some issues with conception.....which is why it was one of the first things I tried when my milk supply tanked at when my son was 9 days old due to a severe case of Mastitis.

Best of luck!
