salad spinner? - Page 2

We also have the oxo and love it. Definitely recommend it. As far as storage I love these rubbermaid produce savers

Honestly I can keep lettuce or other greens fresh for at least two weeks in these. For me I need to do lots of lettuce at once otherwise it's too much of a hassle for me to make a salad at dinner time. I'd never had success storing prewashed lettuce until I got one of these.

I'm going against the grain here. The only thing I use my salad spinnner for is storing washed greens in. When get home from shopping, I wash all of my greens - lettuce, chard, spinach and kale, put each one in a clean pillowcase, tie it shut, and toss them all in for a spin-cycle in my washing machine. Perfectly dry greens, and even easier than a spinner. (And it still works in the new front-loader).

ETA: I store the lettuce in the OXO spinner, the others in sealed containers with a dry folded tea towel on the bottom. Lettuce and spinach keep about a week for me like that, I've had the sturdier greens stay sound for more than 2 weeks.

I can just imagine the look on DH's face if I headed downstairs with pillowcases filled with greens! It totally sounds like something to try at least once, though.
That's awesome. Thank you for giving me another option.
