Another bra thread

I'm looking for nursing bra suggestions.

I'm normally about a 34-A, though I've been more like a 36-A during pregnancy.

My boobs are fairly uneven- partly they just LOOK uneven because my rib cage curves in unevenly. Anyhow, a thickly lined bra works well to hide that fact.

But it can't be a stiffly molded cup, or else the smaller boob flashes everyone every time I bend over.

Basically it needs to be thickly lined, but still conform to fit against my boobs.

I have always worn underwire. But I hear a lot of people say bad things about that with breastfeeding. Can you not wear underwire? Or is it just a preference thing?

So- if you were me, what kind of bra would you look for? I'd love to find something that I can try on in the store, because I have such a hard time finding bras that fit. All of my pre-pregnancy bras that fit are from victoria's secret.

I'm going to go ahead and get one or two sports bra cheapie bras to have for the first little bit, since I have no idea what size my boobs will be once my milk is in. But I'm going to be going back to work at 12 weeks, and having a bra that fits well would certainly be nice!

TIA!

The best bra I have found is fairly cheapo - it's a Gilligan & O'Malley from Target. This is what I like:

- It has molded cups that are thick enough to hide my nursing pads
- It does not have an underwire (I was an underwire devotee until I started nursing, When I pulled the flap down with an underwire, it dug in to my side and drove me crazy).
- It's really easy to unsnap. Some nursing bras are just designed badly and are hard to re-hook.

This is what I don't like:
- It only comes in black and white. No beige. Who wears white bras anyway?

They don't have it on-line for some reason, so I can't post a link, but they do sell them in every Target I've ever been to. I have three of them and basically wear them everyday.

I would go with the Bravado Seamless Nursing Bra. It comes with removable foam cups. Some women like them, I hated them so I never used them. I also have very uneven breasts and this bra (without the foam cups) has magical powers that make the boobies look even. It runs small, so if you are in between sizes go with the next size up. It is the best bra I've ever owned. I bought about 10 different nursing bras and this is by far the best. Well worth the price. Comfortable beyond belief, soft, low cut (you can use v-necks), easy open nursing clasp, supportive. Can you tell I love this bra? I've been nursing for 14 months and this has been my staple.

Hi,

I'm the same size as you (34-A pre-pregnancy, now about C cup nursing). I really like this bra from Motherhood (hope it's ok to post link): http://www.motherhood.com/Product.as...tegory_Id=MC29
It's comfortable, the padding sort of smooths everything out, and it's stretchy so you don't have to go with an exact size, which is good if you don't know what size you're going to end up being.

I also love the nursing tank tops from Target, Gilligan & O'Malley: http://www.target.com/Gilligan-OMall.../dp/B0010WC6GS
Good for layering, easy to use, right amount of support for me without squashing. And the price is right.

And, for fun I got a fancy nursing bra from Condessa -- the "Cassandra" -- http://www.condessainc.com/ It was half-price on Amazon, not sure if they're still doing that sale. Despite being all lacy and cute, it's really comfortable and supportive too.

I believe that underwire is a problem while nursing because it can press on your milk ducts, causing clogged ducts. But there are special nursing underwire bras which I think are ok (but I don't know from personal experience).

Thanks you guys!!!

ETA: I just looked at the Bravado page and the birth center sells them! I feel like I'm spending all of my time there recently, so next time I'll have to go check it out!
