flower seeds planted indoors question pleaes

I'm confused about flower seeds. Are you supposed to plant multiple seeds in one little pot and then thin them like you do with veggie sprouts? I planted flower seeds in a 200 ct. little plastic seed starter tray...if I planted one daisy seed...will I get one daisy from that or multiple ones like from a plant? Is it different depending on the flower? Sorry for the ignorance I'm totally new at this. thank you for your time.

It depends on what you plant to give you multiple flowers or just one. One seed should give you one plant. Or, no plant. That's why you should plant 2 or 3 per little spot in your tray. Depending on what the seed is, I'll plant one, but you take a chance on it not germinating

So, if you plant a daisy that is like a gerber daisy that gets a few nice stems, (actually, I've never grown them, just looked at them at the nursery, so I'm trying to remember how they look), you plant one seed, but you get a plant that has multiple leaves and 2 or 3 stalks with a flower on each stalk.

If, however, you plant something that only gets one flower per plant, (I can't think of one, only bulbs and you wouldn't start them inside), then you would only get one flower.

So, long story short, if you planted more than one in each cell, thin them when they're bigger down to one. You will get a complete plant from each one. When you transplant them outside, give them enough room that they aren't crowded when they're full grown.
