mild sleep apnea

hi!

does anyone here have any experience with treating mild sleep apnea? My 4 year old daughter who snores was just diagnosed with it (we went for a sleep study). Our ENT is recommending a surgery to remove her tonsils and adenoids. I am not positive if this is the right approach and want to see if there are any natural ways i can help her.

Thank you.

We recently had our 4 year old at the ENT for the same problem. They suggested removing the tonsils and adenoids too. We decided to try the chiropractor first. (I should mention, we call our chiropractor a healer because she truly fixes the problem, with the goal of healing you so you don't have to return. She's also extremely gentle and kind.) She fixed some birth trauma he had (cord wrapped around the arm and neck). We've seen her twice and now my son can sleep in a normal position, doesn't snore anymore and breathes all night long. I admit, I was skeptical but my husband has seen her for a running injury and I was was willing to try alternatives before surgery. I'm so happy we tried it first and the improvements have been amazing.

Our son had HUGE tonsils at age 3 and was a snorer/mouth breather at night. We took him to an ENT who said his tonsils were bad but not the worst she'd seen. She said he might "grow into" his tonsils and now, at age 6, he has. When he has a cold, the sleep problems come back a bit, but for the most part he does OK.

Maybe you could wait 6 months and then have her re-evaluated?

Good luck.

We just had to make this decision. In addition to the sleep apnea, he also has repeat strep infections (6 in the last 12 months). He is getting his tonsils and adenoids removed in a 2 weeks.
