Has anyone ever done a bone broth fast?

I'm usually pretty anti-fast or detox (at least, for myself it's never seemed necessary and in some cases, it can often seem harmful) but I've been having some digestive issues and have been really feeling over and over like I'd like to do a short fast.

I was thinking about trying just a simple bone broth fast this weekend- has anyone tried that before? I have both chicken and beef here, so it seemed like a good way to sort of "baseline" my digestive system, etc.

I am nursing, but she's down to only twice a day and I suspect that my milk is nearly gone anyway. I doubt that something like a two day broth fast would unleash many toxins anyway.

Any thoughts?

It's sort of the intro to the GAPS diet, which is all about gut healing--which could only be helpful for digestion IMO. Perhaps adding in a little fermented veggie juice to some of the broth *could* be helpful as well??

As far as the release of toxins, is there a way you could be sure you're supporting your detox pathways by taking things like vitamin C and magnesium etc., so you're NOT dumping toxins into your milk and organs, etc...? (Mamas like whoMe and WuiWei would have better info for you on what to take to support the various pathways...)

Good luck--please share how it goes! (I'm interested!!)

A - I've got some fish (grouper) broth in the freezer and I don't think we're going to use all of it. If you want some of that for your fast, come and get it.
