Hello mamas and papas,
I live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. All my life I've lived in big cities such as LA, NYC and London, so living on a dirt road is a nice change.
I read Mothering at the Library with my 3 month old son. I was raised slightly granola, but my mothering comes mostly from practical ideals:
- I carry baby in a sling since it's hard to use a stroller in the woods and we keep each other warm. He also doesn't like to be put down.
- I breast feed for obvious reasons and also because it's easy and cheap!
- I co-sleep because we only have a one bedroom and I love waking up to his smile
- I EC because he HATES being in dirty diapers and I'm respecting his hygiene
However, I always respect other people's parenting choices. I firmly believe that one should do what works for their family best, whether it's bottle feeding or nursing until 5 years. My own mother could not breast feed because she is bi-polar and was on heavy meds.
I'm glad to be here and hope to meet a diverse group of parents!
PS: how can I post an avatar? I can't figure it out for the life of me!
