My twins are 2.5 now and I am considering getting them Wheely Bugs. I’m not sure if the kids may be too old now and won’t be interested in something like that for much longer. The Wheely Bugs are costly, and getting 2 of them makes it a big investment. I’m wondering at what age to children outgrow interest in ride on toys like these? TIA

I found them to be very small and my DS is small-I can't see a 2.5 year on them very long because of the size.

I can't say my DD is head of heals for it. But I am. It is her only ride on toy so it gets used and she loves it. It is a great design. I would not use it outside. But, it is great for hardwood floors. *I heard if you use it on pavement it might subsequently scratch up hardwood floors.

My 19 month dd has a wheely cow and really likes it. Can't help you on how long she will enjoy this but did want to comment that they do come in 2 sizes... my dd is tall for her age and fits well on the large size which is actually recommended for ages 3+ I believe! I wouldn't recommend the small size as I imagine it would only see limited use before it is wayyyy too small.

Thank you for responding, DD is tall so we will definately need the larger size. MommaLura, how old is your DS? I do have hard wood floors, plus I have heard that twins have a blast chasing each other while riding these things. Maybe this is one of those toys that is better for 2 kids than for one. Maybe I should be posting in the multiples forum.
We do have a budget to get them something new, but I'm not sure getting 2 Wheely Bugs would be the best investment at this age. With summer coming up maybe I should be looking at outdoor ride on toys, but I'm concerned about getting out since we live on a street with some dangerous drivers.

I don't know if you should worry too much about how small they are -- my 8 year old nieces had a great time riding on ours when they were out. That said, it mostly sits in the corner, unused, unless we've got guests over. Like a play kitchen or trampoline, it is one of those toys that will be used over many years, though, which ameliorates the cost a bit for us.
