Re-Introducing Myself!

Hello Mamas (and mama's to be)

I haven't ever really posted here very much but I really want to - tired of mostly just being a lurker!

I'm from Vancouver Island on the west coast of BC. I have three children, a boy of 12, a girl who turns 8 next week, and a 4 year old boy. They are my greatest joy as well as my greatest challenge. We co-slept (and are still transitioning the youngest into his own bed). I breastfed all of them until they self-weaned at about 3.5 years (the youngest is still hanging on). I did babywear & partial clothdiaper, selective vax, and both of my boys are intact!

Some of the other parts of my life... I'm a doula and breastfeeding counsellor though I don't do many births at the moment. I am a jewelry artisan and make fertility, birth and nursing necklaces. I'm opening an Etsy shop on the first day of spring! So, I'm excited about that.

I've started a new blog in the last few weeks - on fertility/pregnancy/birth/breastfeeding. I love writing and am becoming addicted to blogging. I've had a couple of articles published in local parenting magazines and would love to submit to Mothering someday.

My oldest turns 13 this year, so I'll be looking for support for being the mama of a teenager. Big changes are coming and I can't quite believe it!

One of my goals this year is to become vegetarian and eat more raw foods. I'm also planning to live more simply and get rid of the stuff!

So happy to be here Now, I'm off to see how to make a signature with fun smilies!

Welcome back!

I first "met" you on today's parent when I saw a link to your blog (which I can't find anymore). I read about your family's homeschooling fun.

I am from Toronto, but I wish I was further North with the trees.

I too am a doula and I'm a childbirth educator. I have a blast and I am getting into the groove of attending births now that my princess is 2.5 years old.

I can't wait to hear more about your adventures and do let me know when your etsy shop is open! I love all things fertility, birth, pregnancy, and breastfeeding!
