Does anyone have any suggestions for a baby who loves to chew on EVERYTHING except chew toys? She especially loves paper and or cardboard. So weird. I am playing with the idea of just giving her some packaging paper to play with, but is that safe? I have given her a piece cardstock before and she chewed it to shreds and loved it, but I am afraid she will swallow a piece and I am concerned about the inks/dyes on the paper. Also, what about paper cuts?

Anyone else have this issue? What do you do?

I have no suggestions but I have a billy goat son too. He loves swiping magazines out of the rack to destroy and eat. I'm terrified to have him anywhere near my library books lol. I wonder when they'll grow out of it? I miss being able to read to him without him thinking it's his next meal.

ribbons?

i made my babe a small homemade "taggie" lovey. it was super easy.
i also took a plastic ring and knotted different grosgrain ribbons all around it

Bwahahaha. This is my son, 100%. I wonder if he's always going to be a chewer or if it's something he'll get over as he gets older...

I do let him chew on basically anything I don't feel is a safety hazard. (Paper's a sore point between us, as he really WANTS paper, but I'm worried about him getting bits off and swallowing it.)

One thing he really loves is a piece of "baby paper" my in-laws got for him. It's that crinkly stuff that you find often in baby toys sandwiched between pieces of fabric. He adores it.

Another thing he really loves is a silicone pastry brush we have in the kitchen. It puts up with his chewing well and he seems to like the odd texture.

He LOVES tags on things and I've heard this is really common... and that it's simple to make a blanket that is edged with "tags"... loops of ribbon (or fabric or whatever) for the baby to chew on and play with.

Thanks everyone, I am happy we are not alone.
I just remembered that we have a tag rattle thing, I didn't think much of it when we got it at the shower, but I will break it out today.
I didn't know you could buy that crinkle stuff alone, I think we will be on a hunt for it.

BTW - I found a little piece of a cardstock flyer in DD's diaper yesterday...waiting on the tin can.
