Our speech therapist had the Big Book of Exclamations...it was pretty good, it's designed to help parents to speech therapy at home...but the Diaper David series by David Shannon does pretty much the same thing & is much cheaper.

I strongly recommend Play to Talk by MacDonald. His methods are solid & evidence-based, all fit perfectly with attachment parenting, easy exercises to integrate into everyday activities.

I have this book and have found it very helpful. It has includes a chapter on how evaluations are done and what the different methods of scoring mean. The author discusses a lot of different types of speech/language/listening problems. Case studies and concrete examples show how children are affected by these disoders and what is done in speech/language therapy to work on these problems.

I found this book to be very informative and written in a way that is easy to understand.

I also found this book to be very helpful. It was the first book I ever read regarding my daughter's speech delays - I'd definitely recommend it.

Library

Our local library has several of these, might be worth perusing your library before buying.
