I really like our Thirsties duo covers. DS has been in size 2's since the end of last summer, so the aplix is really worn out on some of them. It's hard to get them open when changing a diaper, and now the velcro that's on the stomach part is starting to pull away from the PUL. I noticed that Thirsties is now making a version of the duo cover with snaps. Has anyone tried these? I can't find any images online of this cover opened up, so I'm wondering how much adjusting you can do in terms of size (in other words, how many snaps are there on the stomach part so you can customize the fit)...?

Green mountain diapers has a whole explanation of the Thirsties Due aplix vs snaps. It's amazingly thorough.

I'm actually trying to decide on the regular thirsties cover or the duo, and also the snaps vs the velcro.

I JUST got the snaps version this weekend. Haven't tried it out yet, but since DD is pulling off her aplix DuoWrap--and the aplix always scratches her belly--I think the snaps will be just the thing we need. The snaps seem...really tight...it was hard to unsnap when I was checking the cover out. Anyhow, I'll give the diapers a try and come back on and let you all know how they fit DD.
Superlove, JMO--I prefer the DuoWrap fit over the regular cover. The regular cover fits really low over my daughters legs--like wrapping around her mid-thigh, which was fine until she became more mobile around 4-5 months. Once she started sitting up and crawling around, I stopped using the regular cover because it was just too low over her legs...the aplix also scratched her belly up--no matter how I fastened and folded and pulled. The Duowrap fits more 'bikini-like' (if that's even possible in the cloth diaper world) and isn't as bulky as the regular cover.

Sorry to be slow to respond - I can't access anything with my account and the administrators aren't responding to my email.
Something funky happened when I changed the email address associated with my account. I created a new account, which is why my username is a little different now.
ANYWAY:
Superlove, thanks for the link! It's interesting to read about the differences (and I generally trust the GMD folks to be thorough and detail-oriented).
desertgirl01: I totally agree with the above - the regular covers fit really low on the leg.
I ordered one cover with snaps - it should be arriving in the mail in the next day or two. We'll see how it goes. The GMD site says that the snaps might not work as well with un-snappied prefolds... and we don't do snappis.

I tried the DuoWrap Snaps last night, just for one diaper change. Used a trifolded prefold (I don't do snappis either). First of all, I think the dipe was WAY too big, so I should have snapped it all the way down in front (which is sorta weird since the velcro duowrap is on the same setting). And it does seem to come down lower over the thighs. The diapers also has a strange little elastic gather in the front (almost looks like a newborn cutout, but this is the Size 2 cover). I guess that's just to be able to get a better fit with the snaps?
I need to have the baby in it again....she didn't even have a pee in it before I needed to put her nighttime diaper on. I'll fix the settings and try it again.

Finally got my new cover in the mail a couple of days ago (the mailman misplaced it for a while). I'm not crazy about it. It does sit a bit lower on the legs than the aplix duo wraps (as someone already mentioned). However, the main problem seems to be that it's narrower or something at the waist. I put it on DS, and the outer-most snap on the tab is already at the outer-most snap on the stomach band of the wrap. With our aplix duo covers, we still have LOTS of growing room at the waist, but it seems like this snap one won't last us as long (in terms of the waist). It seemed too tight on him through the hips. Hm...
I think I may stick with the aplix and just replace the worn out ones I have. Ah, well.
