DD hates the bath suddenly

a few months ago, DD (21 months) got scared of the bath (actually a crack on the bottom of the tub that kinda looks like a spider). She got better and has loved the bath again..... until she poo'd in the tub last week. It was our first poo incident and didn't make a big thing about it, but she cried and wouldn't go back in... now she is wanting to wear diapers in the tub or all together won't get in. What can we do?

could you get in with her? I see (from your sig) you are still nursing. My DD went through a phase where she did not want to get in the tub. I get in w/ her & nurse her while I slowly lower her in the water. I like bathing w/ her & the nursing calms her to where she forgets that she didn't want to be in the tub.

or could you put a cloth swim diaper on her in the tub?

I usually do bathe with her. It doesn't seem to help. I will try the nursing though.

We tried to put a cloth and a reusable swim diaper and she doesn't want it. Just a disposable.

Arghhh. We will try again.
