Hello, I just discovered this wonderful section of MDC! What a beautiful mosaic!

I'm starting to put together a special ceremony for my DS in lieu of a church christening and see some families have naming ceremonies or welcoming celebrations for their LOs. I'd like to do something similar, when my DS is about 1 when we can finally get our families together from across the US.

I did a search here but didn't find specific ideas, so I'd love to pose this question: For those who held such a celebration for your babies, what poems, readings, songs or prayers did you have? How did you make everyone in attendance feel involved or part of the "ceremony"? Instead of naming Godparents, are there any special names you picked out for people you want to honor in your LOs life? We have about 4 people who we'd like to honor, and I'd love to do something to make them feel my DH's and my love for them, and the significance we'd like them to play in our son's life.

I'd be so thankful to hear about the any such traditions you have in your families.
