When is this really neccessary? DD has quite a few teeth including at least two molars and she nurses all night. She's 18mo.

If your child has any issues with her teeth that may require dental work, then right away would be a good time, but my dd has great teeth and she went to the dentist for the first time last month. She is almost 3 yrs old.

bumping because this is exactly what i came on here hoping to find out.
At what age, or how many teeth should you start taking your toddler for dental checkups?

I took both of my LOs by their first birthday.

I've read many posts here that advise waiting unless your child has problems. But I've also read many posts where parents waited (say until age 3) only to find their child had multiple cavities and were in shock that they didn't know. Not all problems are easily visible, especially to an untrained eye.
